Napa, California, March 22, 2007 – Wine Industry Technology Symposium (WITS)™ [www.wineindustrytechnologysymposium.com], the premier event showcasing strategic use of information technology and services for the wine industry, will hold its third annual conference on July 17, 2007 at the Meritage Resort in Napa, California (www.themeritageresort.com).  Limited sponsorships for the event and technology showcase are available through March 31.  Sponsors for 2007 include eSkye Software, Inertia Beverage Group, The Winetasting Network, Dimensional Insight, Compli Beverage, AC Nielsen/Beverage Data Network/TDLinx, TradePulse, CAM Commerce Solutions, Payroll Masters and Vermont Information Processing. There will be more than 50 speakers from leading wineries, distributors, retailers, and other thought leaders.

Submissions for speakers at this year’s event should submit a bio and one-page suggested topic to info@wineindustrytechnologysymposium.com.  The deadline for speaker submissions is March 31.  Chosen speakers will be notified by April 15.

WITS Event Co-Chair, Lesley P. Berglund stated, “We are proud to be taking WITS to a whole new level this year.  We have lined up Best of Breed technology case studies, from outside the wine industry, as well as exploring breakthrough technologies being leveraged by each tier in our own industry.”  

 “Given the increasing demands on wineries, distributors and retailers there has never been a greater need for understanding the strategic and tactical technology options available the industry.” said J. Smoke Wallin, WITS Event Co-Chair. 

The WITS Technology Showcase will allow more than 25 technology vendors and service providers to display available products and services to the industry.   The showcase is filling up again this year and remaining sponsorship and technology showcase positions will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.   

A not-to-be-missed addition to WITS this year is the new CIO networking forum.  “During WITS we will take the opportunity to gather all winery CIO, CTO and technology leaders to come together for an exclusive winery CIO lunch to promote information exchange among technology leadership peers” said Korbel CIO Bob Barnes, who is leading this program.

The Wine Industry Financial Symposium, an industry-led group dedicated to furthering financial education within the wine industry, is the organizing sponsor of WITS.  Media sponsors include Wine Business Monthly and Wines &amp; Vines.
